Wothorpe Road, Stamford

Sunday 20th November 2011

So, one week on from the first groundhop in ages, a second in quick succession! Meeting up with Duncan from the Football Ground Guide, we should have been heading northwards to Guiseley, which I was quite looking forward to stopping off on the way to have a look around Park Avenue in Bradford, but after getting onto the motorway the matrix signs soon put paid to that idea with the M1 closed between J25-26. A quick diversion then and we ended up in Stamford, Lincolnshire. A nice town, and a nice ground as well, although we spent most of the game in the clubhouse, which kind of felt missing out on it a little bit. Still, it was good to stop off at Nene Park on the way as well, a ground I've wanted to go to for ages, right since Rushden & Diamonds were in the league. With Kettering supposedly struggling a little bit at the moment, then who knows what might happen, it could end up with AFCRAD back there anyway, time will tell.

In other news, Wolves are back to losing, the cracks appearing through the wallpaper again. Only Chelsea away next weekend, what could possibly go wrong....
